First Ever Sandhill Crane In Whitefield NH.
May 18th, 2012 - Steep Falls, ME
On May 13, 2012 a southern NH birder reported a Lesser Sandhill Crane at Airport Marsh in Whitefield, NH. The report was spread to other birders in the area and I was able to photograph the bird. Records date back to 1899 and this was the first sighting and documentation ever.
