The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

I live near several lakes that have a decent population of loons. I have always been taken by the detail in the feathers, the contrasting light, and dark around their necks, and of course their red eyes. Having a loon interacting with the water of a lake was important to the vision in my mind.
I have been working in commercial art and graphic design for over 20 years. Recently I began painting as a way of meditating. The goal was to just have fun. If I felt like using a palette knife for the day I just used a knife. If I felt like using red, I used red. I approached the painting as something that was only for me. The Owl was my first one. There was a day where I went in and the brush strokes I was creating looked a lot like feathers to me. And after continuing that path a bit, the owl became an idea in my mind that I wanted to explore. In every painting I begin, there comes a time where the image and composition present itself. At least in my mind. I feel painting birds has been the perfect fit for this process. Brushstrokes...
